1. Title

What experiment did you do? Be specific.
Tip: a good title names the independent and dependent variable: "The effect of [IV] on [DV]".

2. Question

What were you trying to find out? Phrase as a question.

3. Hypothesis

What do you predict will happen, and why? Use "If... then... because..."

4. Variables

List all three variable types.

5. Materials

List everything you need (with quantities and sizes).

6. Procedure

Step-by-step instructions clear enough that someone else could follow them.
Tip: use numbered steps. Each step is one action.

7. Data / Observations

A table is best. You can also paste a screenshot of your graph.

8. Analysis

What does the data SHOW? Describe the pattern in words.

9. Conclusion

Did your hypothesis hold up? What did you learn? Refer back to the question.

10. Sources of Error / Next Steps

What might have gone wrong? What would you do differently next time?
